What We Do

Specialised Horizontal and Directional Drilling

Advanced Underground Infrastructure

We specialise in horizontal directional drilling technology that allows for the installation of underground utilities with minimal disruption to surface structures and environments. Our precision drilling techniques create pathways for water, sewer, gas, telecommunications, and electrical lines beneath roadways, waterways, and environmentally sensitive areas.

Comprehensive Hassle-Free Solutions

We provide complete underground infrastructure solutions from initial site assessment to drilling execution and final installation. Our expert teams utilize advanced tracking systems to maintain precise control of drill paths, ensuring accurate placement while avoiding existing underground utilities and natural obstacles.

Collaborative Approach to Infrastructure

Beyond standard drilling services, we offer comprehensive project management that coordinates with regulatory agencies, environmental specialists, and community stakeholders. Our collaborative approach ensures that each project not only meets technical specifications but also addresses broader community and environmental concerns, delivering infrastructure solutions that serve present needs while protecting resources for future generations.

Our Process

Step One: Planning and Preparation

Drill Line:

A drill line is chosen, considering factors like soil conditions, existing utilities, environmental constraints
& local Iwi/Hapu sacred grounds or locations of archaeological interest.

Drilling Rig:

Once drill line has been finalised and utilities found a specialized drill rig is used to drill horizontally throughthe ground to the exit pit guided by a tracking system in the drill head allowing operators to steer clear of existing utilities and obstacles.

Step Two: Reaming and Pipe Pull

Borehole Expansion:

Once the pilot hole reaches the exit pit, a reamer (hole opener) is attached to enlarge the drill hole to the required diameter for the pipe (Typically 1.5x pipe size). If required a pre-ream pass can be
done to clean the hole for easy pipe installation, this depends on ground conditions, drill rig and length/size of pipe being installed.

Pipe Pull:

The pipeline or conduit is then pulled back through the enlarged drill hole using specialised mud, mixed in our holding tanks consisting of Bentonite and Polymers.

Backfilling:

After the pipe is in place, all necessary connections are made and then the area is backfilled and restored.
